Caesar is my two year old Great Dane and he and I have been doing pet therapy with Paws2Care since March of 2008. Caesar is my “veteran” therapy dog. He has a little (only in age) Great Dane “sister”, Darcey, who is also a therapy dog.

Everyone Caesar meets on the therapy visits is amazed at how big he is and can’t believe how calm and gentle he is in spite of his size. Some people are intimidated when they first see him and won’t get anywhere near him, but after a while they come up to pet him and want to know all about him. He has made a lot of patients, visitors and staff smile.

I became interested in pet therapy years ago when my oldest daughter became very ill and spent several months in a hospital 2 ½ hours away from home. One of the few bright moments while in the hospital was when the therapy dogs came to visit the children and their families. I vowed that one day I would become involved with a pet therapy group.

Paws2Care is a very special organization consisting of many wonderful dog/handler teams. I feel so blessed to be part of this group and to have such wonderful therapy dogs.
