LeeLoo
was rescued at 3 months of age from a terrible situation which left
her emaciated and suffering from parasites. Despite her
condition, her temperament was sweet and calm. When she became
healthy and a better weight, her temperament did not change.
She was the tiniest little puppy I had ever seen and we took one
look at her and couldn't leave her where she was. She fit
right into our home and loves to sleep under the covers. If
you don't see LeeLoo around the house, you can quickly find her
snuggled into the pillows on my bed.
As
she got fatter and more energetic, I kept expecting her sweet
disposition to change, but it didn't.
Very early on, I realized that she would make a great Therapy Dog.
We were just waiting for her to turn one year old so that we could
take the test. Of course, she passed.
At a whopping 12 pounds, LeeLoo is well received at the various facilities we visit. Kids at Woodland Elementary read to her and giggle when she walks on their books and sniffs and licks their hands. Patients at St. Francis Hospital love to have her sit on the side of their beds while the pat her soft fur and tell me their stories.
