Please
meet Peyton! His Deaf handler is Jessica Gribble of Spartanburg, SC.
Peyton began his first visit in the Spring of 2008. Because of his
handler who works at South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind,
he is an avid visitor at the school. Deaf children become fond of
Peyton because of his playful personality and friendly interaction.
They would ask Jessica to bring Peyton more often. When it comes to
children with disability, Peyton becomes more sensitive and licks on
the hands and faces of the children, letting them know he is there.
Peyton participated in Miss SCSDB 2008 (South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind) pageant program and presentations. Peyton loves attention and loves to please people by doing his tricks. He knows a few sign language and is working hard to learn more so Deaf kids could sign to him.
Peyton’s favorite things to do is hiking and going out for a ride up the mountains. He adores his baby sister, Rylee, a Nova Scotia Duck Toller.
When
Jessica first got Peyton at 11 weeks old, she did not know what
could have become of Peyton.
But
doing therapy dog program truly is a blessing and it fits him very
well! When children smile, it seems like Peyton is smiling too! He
loves it! When anyone has a bad day, Peyton has a special way of
letting him/her know everything will be just fine, especially his
handler!
